As my last race of the 2011 season, Ironman 70.3 Miami was a pretty special one. For one, it came after a few weeks of training with some of my favorite people in Clermont, FL, and some fun-filled, solid training sessions – good for the soul kind of stuff. I drove down to the race on Friday, an adventure that took far longer than I expected due to tropical storms and all-too-frequent bathroom stops (hey, I was hydrating). I arrived in Miami tired and ready for bed but ended up going straight to dinner to meet some new friends – Leanda and Katherine. : ) So while the rest of Miami was dressed in costumes and Friday night going out attire, there I was in a restaurant, wearing compression and a sports top feeling every bit as cool as that sounds.
