When I’m not swimming, biking, running…or eating, I volunteer with an amazing organization called Athletes Without Limits, a nonprofit helping elite athletes with intellectual disability achieve the highest levels in sports – including the Paralympics. Two years ago, I borrowed a bike from Syd Lea – an Athletes Without Limits athlete – for my very first cyclocross race. The most memorable part of the experience (in addition to winning ;)) was seeing how Syd’s face lit up in the face of competition and how he truly loves to race his bike (and is exceptionally good at it).
